Five Ways to Enhance Your Healing

Nutritional Therapy, being a holistic approach, differs from modern medicine in the premise that the body will heal itself, given the proper tools, and does not require the removal of parts or the suppression of symptoms. Because of this foundational difference, you become an actual part of the process, rather than a passive recipient. The following steps, therefore, are vital to your recovery.
  1. FACE THE PAIN: Healing hurts. But not as much as suffering. The sooner your recognize that the pain of recovery is not greater than the pain of illness, the sooner you can begin your journey back to full health.
  2. PARTICIPATE: Your nutritional therapist is probably not going to  give you a pill to make you better. She will advocate lifestyle changes and recommend food plans personalized for you. But unless you implement them, nothing will change. She cannot heal for you!
  3. EXERCISE PATIENCE: Chronic conditions do not develop overnight, nor do they resolve themselves overnight. Recognize that in most instances, contributing patterns have been in place for years. Although you will begin to see some improvements as soon as you begin practicing your therapist's recommendations, it will probably take months to complete the process.
  4. SHARE: When you hear, you learn. When you pass it on, it becomes yours. Every day, someone else in your path is hurting. When you pay it forward, you receive more growth, more knowledge, more ability.
  5. ACCEPT THE GIFT: Regenerating power is available to all of us, if we keep our hearts open, our minds positive, and our spirits grateful. Move forward in hope, ready to receive what will be given. Be happy to watch the miracle unfold like the blossoming of a rose.

I think that statement is profoundly true and applies to a lot more then just nutritional health! I'd love to follow your blog, can you post or set a link?

  2. Yes, we now have a "follow" button. Nutrition parallels life. As we learn to correct faulty eating patterns, we are also learning to amend destructive patterns in our lives. Thanks for your comment!
